Central Missouri Speedway Welcomes Track Videographer Bobby Raybourn and Technical Inspector Bob Kerbs to the Team!
February 11, 2018
(Warrensburg, Missouri) Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is pleased to announce the addition of Bobby Raybourn to its ranks as track videographer beginning with the 2018 race season. Raybourn first came to CMS in 2015 and boosted the track’s social media presence by assisting with the creation of the track’s CMS Going Green YouTube page, which to date has registered over 35,000 views.
Raybourn works as a freelance videographer, gaining most of his experience from the outdoor hunting field. Recently, he spent time filming with nationally-known televised shows, where he will continue this work along with his activity at CMS. His love for the videography side of televised hunting has not limited him to that field alone, he also brings his creativity of video and editing to sporting events. His own race experience allows him to capture unique moments at the track where he is a six-time feature winner behind the wheel.
Bob Kerbs was recently named CMS Technical Inspector. Kerbs’ vast experience and racing background with tech inspection at various racing venues and special events will uphold CMS’s long-standing tradition of treating all drivers fair and equal. Kerbs is currently working with CMS management to acquire additional equipment for his duties to provide fair and accurate competition among competing drivers.
A total of 28 drivers completed their early bird registration at the recent racer’s auction and trade show and saved $10 on their annual registration fee. Drivers still have time to save money and time on paperwork for the coming season by heading to the CMS website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net and hovering over the DRIVERS heading and choosing the Registration Form. CMS was often asked, “What does registering my car do for me at the track?” Recently, CMS made a change to its policy on car registration and special event entries and now offers reduced entry fees to Track Registered Drivers for all car class special events.
Last year, a total of 358 drivers took part in the action at CMS. These drivers made their way to the track from eight states and represented 171 hometowns. Additional statistical highlights from last season include the Street Stock division continuing their renaissance with their highest average car count in one season since 2007. Since first debuting in 2014, the Pure Stocks also continued to elevate their presence and begin their fifth year as a weekly car class at the track with a head of steam as average car counts per night for the class increased from five in 2014 to 16 last season. All statistics provided by Track Statistician Glyda Jaeger.
Best in show awards for weekly car classes will once again be presented to the drivers on opening night, Saturday, April 21. If your business would like to sponsor the “Best in Show” trophies, please contact the number listed above. Your business will present the awards on the front straightaway on opening night and you will have the opportunity to inform the audience about your business and what you offer your customers.
For drivers participating in the car show, CMS will award one free driver pit pass for the afternoon into evening Test and Tune practice session that will follow the car show beginning at 3 p.m. The car show and practice are open to ALL car classes wishing to take practice laps. Race fans and family members will have an opportunity to see the cars up close, meet and greet the drivers, and take pictures of the new car looks and vinyl wraps before drivers take to the track for the first time. Fans may watch the practice laps for free in the pit-side grandstands. There will be a charge TBD for those entering the pits. Limited concessions will be available on pit side only.
As Earl and Susan Walls begin their 23rd year as owners and promoters in 2018, CMS continues to build its business partners for the coming season. There are several opportunities for businesses to partner with the track and reach potential new customers and clients. Car class sponsorship, presenting race night sponsors, special event sponsors, driver roster partners, website partners, and billboard advertisement opportunities are all possibilities for CMS partners to reach customers each week during season and beyond.
The track has a solid rapport with its business partners and includes their information throughout the season via press and media releases and most importantly, announcers use every opportunity to talk about sponsors while on the track PA system before and during race nights. CMS cares about its business partners and shares information with race fans and drivers. For additional business partner information, contact Susan Walls at 816.229.1338. No calls after 8 p.m. please.
